Google to roll out Genie 4 to Google AI Ultra subscribers in Project Genie soon
“Genie 4 has been released as a research preview to trusted testers, and is coming soon to Google AI Ultra subscribers in Project Genie and early access partners in the Gemini API and Google AI Studio.”
Context: Google DeepMind blog post "Genie 4: A new generation of world simulation" (27 Oct 2026), announcing its new real-time interactive world model. Google's Keyword blog says the same ("It's coming soon to Google AI Ultra subscribers in Project Genie"). TechCrunch reported it would roll out to AI Ultra subscribers "In the coming weeks"; Ars Technica wrote "Access will start expanding soon, but there's no specific timeline yet." No deadline was given; the 31 Jan 2027 horizon (about three months) is ours. How we judge it
Our interpretation: kept if by 31 Jan 2027 Genie 4 is usable in Project Genie by Google AI Ultra subscribers beyond the trusted-tester group (a phased or waitlisted rollout counts once Ultra subscribers are being admitted), per Google or credible reporting. Access only for Gemini API early-access partners does not count. Broken if Ultra subscribers cannot use Genie 4 by 31 Jan 2027.
