Tesla aims to deliver Cybercabs to customers by the end of 2026
“we're trying to get Cybercabs to customers by the end of this year, 2026. Obviously, we're producing them in our line in Texas, but all of those are currently going to our own internal Robotaxi fleet.”
Context: Lars Moravy, Tesla's vice president of vehicle engineering, on Tesla's third-quarter 2026 earnings call (21 Oct 2026), answering the shareholder question "when will the Cybercab be available for customer purchase/ownership?" He added that Tesla will "start small this year". Elon Musk said on the same call that the Cybercab will mainly be Tesla-owned transport-as-a-service. How we judge it
Our interpretation: kept if by 31 Dec 2026 Tesla has delivered at least one Cybercab to a customer outside Tesla (an individual or a fleet operator that owns or leases it), as shown by Tesla, its delivery or shareholder materials, the customer, or credible reporting. Orders, reservations or a sales page without a completed delivery do not count, and Cybercabs added to Tesla's own Robotaxi fleet do not count. Broken if no Cybercab has been delivered to an outside customer by 31 Dec 2026.
