Google to bring its Gemini agent experience to consumers in the Gemini app by the end of 2026

“Later this year, we will bring that same experience to consumers, obviously, starting with the 1 billion users in our Gemini app.”

Context: Sundar Pichai, answering an analyst question about agents on Alphabet's Q3 2026 earnings call (28 Oct 2026). "That same experience" is the Gemini agent that Google rolled out to enterprises first ("we decided to roll it out to enterprise first, which we announced with our Gemini agent for enterprise"), introduced at Gemini at Work 2026 as "your new single, universal agent for work". Google's own edited transcript of his prepared remarks says: "As a next step, we're bringing these features to Search. And also, of course, to our billion users on the Gemini app." The Verge reported that Google "will bring that 'same experience' to consumers later this year, starting with the Gemini app", and noted Google's earlier consumer agent, Gemini Spark. How we judge it

Our interpretation: kept if by 31 Dec 2026 Google launches the Gemini agent experience (the agent first offered to enterprises in October 2026, which plans multi-step work, uses tools and takes actions) for consumers in the Gemini app, available to ordinary users beyond a trusted-tester group (a staged rollout that has begun counts), per Google or credible reporting. Partly kept if by 31 Dec 2026 it is launched only for paid subscribers or only as a waitlisted preview. Broken if there is no consumer launch by 31 Dec 2026. Google's earlier Gemini Spark agent does not count unless Google presents it as this launch.
