Nothing's first AI-native product ships in December 2026

“Our first AI-native product ships next month. It’s a tool, but one built with the personality and care that have come to define a Nothing product. It has no new screen, and it couldn't have been an app.”

Context: Said by Carl Pei, co-founder and CEO of Nothing, in his X Article "Toolmakers" published on 4 Nov 2026 (https://x.com/getpeid/status/2117991714879410204; created_at 2026-11-04T14:45:49Z) and restated in a follow-up post on 5 Nov (https://x.com/getpeid/status/2118243351418073578). "Next month" from 4 Nov is December 2026. He described the product as a productivity tool with no new screen that "couldn't have been an app", distinguishing it from AI pendants, pins, glasses and companions. Nothing has not named the product, form factor, price or an exact calendar day. How we judge it

Our interpretation: kept if by 31 Dec 2026 Nothing has started shipping its first AI-native hardware product to customers (units leaving Nothing or its retailers for paying customers, not only an announcement, unveiling or pre-order with later delivery), as shown by Nothing's own announcement, Carl Pei's posts, or credible reporting. The product must be a physical device marketed as AI-native (or equivalent) and must not introduce a new display screen as its primary interface (a screenless or no-new-screen design matches Pei's words). Partly kept if by that date Nothing has publicly unveiled and opened orders for such a product but shipping to customers has not begun, or if shipping has begun only for a narrow demo/pilot cohort. Broken if no such product has shipped by 31 Dec 2026.
