Moonshot AI to release the full open weights of Kimi K3.1 Pro by 4 November 2026

Context: Moonshot AI's tech blog post "Kimi K3.1 Pro Tech Blog: Advancing Open Intelligence" (23 Oct 2026), launching Kimi K3.1 Pro (2.8T total / 104B active parameters, 1M-token context) and K3.1 Pro Highspeed. Under "Availability" it says the model "rolls out today across the Kimi product family" (Kimi.ai, the mobile apps, Kimi Work, Kimi Code and the Kimi API), followed by this sentence; earlier the post says "The full model weights will be released by Nov 4." Moonshot also said it removed cyber-related training data to limit misuse of the open release. Moonshot's official X account (@Kimi_Moonshot) posted the same day: "Open weights by Nov 4, 2026." As of 24 Oct 2026 no K3.1 Pro repository was listed in Moonshot's Hugging Face organization (moonshotai); no licence was named. Our interpretation: kept if by the end of 4 Nov 2026 (any time zone) Moonshot AI makes the full Kimi K3.1 Pro model weights publicly downloadable (for example on Hugging Face, ModelScope or GitHub) under a licence that any developer can accept; broken if no public weights are available by then. App/API-only access, weights limited to selected partners, a smaller distilled or Highspeed-only variant, or a community re-upload do not count.
