Broadcom AI semiconductor revenue to double again to $230 billion in fiscal 2028
“We have line of sight for fiscal 2028 AI semiconductor revenue growth to again double to $230 billion.”
Context: Broadcom CEO Hock Tan's prepared remarks on the Q3 fiscal 2026 earnings call, 2 Sep 2026 (transcript published by The Motley Fool), right after the fiscal 2027 outlook of about $115 billion. Fiscal 2028 ends around the end of October 2028. In Q&A Tan called the two figures "a judged number" and said Broadcom believes "with a pretty high degree of confidence" it will ship $350 billion of AI semiconductors over the two years. Bloomberg (via The Straits Times), CNBC and TrendForce reported the $230 billion figure.
How we judge it
Our interpretation: correct if the AI semiconductor revenue Broadcom reports for fiscal 2028 (in its Q4 FY2028 results, normally out in December) is at least $218.5 billion (within 5% of $230 billion, or higher); partly if it is $190 billion to under $218.5 billion; wrong if under $190 billion. If Broadcom stops breaking out AI revenue, its closest comparable disclosure is used.
