Figure's first Nvidia Vera Rubin GPUs from its Nscale deal to be deployed in Barstow, Texas, starting in the second half of 2027
“Today we are announcing a partnership with Nscale to deploy the NVIDIA Vera Rubin platform for up to 100,000 GPUs targeted for initial deployment starting the second half of 2027 in Barstow, Texas.”
Context: Figure AI news post "Figure and Nscale Sign Strategic Partnership For Up to 100,000 GPUs on the NVIDIA Vera Rubin Platform" (3 Sep 2026). The deal is an initial commitment of $3.5 billion of compute, with intent to scale to over $6 billion; Nscale also invests in Figure. Figure founder and CEO Brett Adcock repeated on X the same day: "The 100,000 GPUs targeted for initial deployment starting the second half of 2027 in Barstow, Texas". Nscale's own release gives the same timing. How we judge it
Our interpretation: kept if by 31 Dec 2027 Figure, Nscale or credible reporting confirms that the first NVIDIA Vera Rubin GPUs under the Figure-Nscale deal have been deployed (installed and in service for Figure) at Nscale's Barstow, Texas site. Reaching the full 100,000 GPUs is not required. Partly kept if the first GPUs for Figure are deployed by then but at a different site. Broken if no deployment for Figure has been confirmed by 31 Dec 2027.
